Q:    Zip Disk

I recently bought a zip disk and its capacity is 100mb the problem is that when I try to download stuff at 25 0r 30 mb .it keeps coming up on the screen that I don't have enough space even though I don't have anything else on it. Your help would be much appreciated!!! thanx

A:    Zip Disk

Make sure the zip disk has space by right clicking on the drive letter and choosing Properties.

Could be some hidden files on it. Or the error message could be your computer doesn't have enough memory. Try shutting down your computer and then starting it back up. This will clear your RAM memory.

Q:    Copy (Export) Outlook Express Address Book

I tried your idea of copying the address book on page 7 of the News.  All went well until I opened my Floppy where I had downloaded the book and it was all in digital code.  Trying to delete it ended up with 762 pages of type. Your idea sounded good but I must have downloaded to the wrong program or something.  Any thoughts?

A:    Copy (Export) Outlook Express Address Book

If you copied it correctly to a disk it would be one file with a .wab extension. Might look like this:  Address Book .WAB If you tried to open that  .WAB file from the disk, your Outlook Express Address Book should open and display the contents.

Not sure what you did but here are the steps:

Copy (Export) Outlook Express Address Book

Open Outlook Express

Open your Address Book

Select File

Select Export

Select Address Book (WAB)

Change the Save In to where you want the file to go

Type in a name for your file without any file extension (Address Book is OK)

Select Save

Try again and let me know how it turns out for you.

Q:    Outlook Express Address Book Cont.

I downloaded to a 3 1/2 in. floppy and got the same results which I have attached (263KB).

A:    Outlook Express Address Book Cont.

I opened the file you sent me and all your addresses are there. This is what the Address Book file looks like when you save it to disk. One file with a WAB extension should you ever need it you can Import it back into Outlook Express.

Q:    Outlook Express Address Book Cont.

Hate to be stupid, but how come I cant download the floppy into Word and read it there.  This is where I was getting all the code.  I didn't try downloading back into Outlook Express.

A:    Outlook Express Address Book Cont.

Now it is clear what you were talking about earlier with all those pages. Word will allow you to open almost any file type. But not all files you open will make any sense. Like the Address Book file

All programs use a particular file format indicated with a 3-digit file extension preceded by a dot.

For instance:

Notepad uses .txt

Word uses .doc

Outlook Express Address Book uses .wab

So if you want to open a txt file use Notepad, a .doc file use Word but you can only open your .WAB address book file with Outlook Express.
