Q:            What is a Pentium II & Pentium III?

Could you please explain to me what is a Microprocessor Pentium II and III. And what is the difference between them all. Thank you for your time and help.

A:         What is a Pentium II & Pentium III?

Pentium is Intel Corporation’s brand name but the processor is the heart of your computer.

Pentium II

Intel Corporation's successor to the Pentium Pro

The Pentium II can execute all the instructions of all the earlier members of the Intel 80x86 processor family.  There are four versions targeted at different user markets.  The Celeron is the simplest and cheapest.  The standard Pentium II is aimed at mainstream home and business users.  The Pentium II Xeon is intended for higher performance business servers.  There is also a mobile version of the Pentium II for use in portable computers.

All Pentium II processors have Multimedia Extensions (MMX). Pentium II is a super scalar CPU having about 7.5 million transistors.

Pentium III

The microprocessor that was Intel Corporation's successor to the Pentium II, introduced in

1999 with a 500 MHz clock rate. The Pentium III is very similar to the Pentium II in architecture. Its external bus can be clocked at 100 or 133 MHz, it can have up to 512 KB of secondary cache, and it comes in various packages including SECC2 and FC-PGA.

The Pentium III has a P6 Dynamic Execution micro architecture, a multi-transaction system bus, and MMX, like the Pentium II.

When Intel released a 1.13 GHz version of the Pentium III processor, it was the world's highest performance microprocessor for PCs.

Q:        What is Auto Complete?

I read something about auto complete. What is it?

A:         What is Auto Complete?

If you're using Internet Explorer 5.x, the Auto Complete feature remembers information that you type in forms on Web pages and URLs that you type in the Address box and instantly fills in that information as soon as you begin typing something that you've previously entered. However, you may not know that the AutoComplete feature also works in the Run dialog box. When you access the Run dialog box, you can make use of Auto Complete to help you quickly fill in the Open text box with commands that you've previously used.
