Q: How to save, print, copy and delete web sites, web pages and web graphics?

.

A: The answers are below and all assume you are not on a web page with Frames. For those of you who may have a question abut Frames just E-mail us with your questions.

What is a web page?

A web page is a single page much like an 8 ½ x 11 page we are all used to when someone says one page. A big difference with web pages is that they are not bound by the 8 ½ x 11 limitation. They could be 30 feet long and some are. That is why you need to use caution when printing a web page so you don’t end up with 30 or 40 pages of print.

What is a web site?

A web site is made up of many web pages and can be from two to thousands of web pages.

What is a web graphic?

A web graphic is a picture or anything that is not text.

Save

To save a web page simply get the web page on your monitor and then choose File, Save As. You can name the file and choose the folder to put it in, then choose Save.

Note: If you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 IE50 will not only save the web page but all the associated files and graphics files to a separate folder. Then you can view the entire web page off-line with all the graphics. Netscape only saves the text of the web page and puts placeholders where the graphics and pictures should be. You will need to save the graphics one at a time.

Save a Graphic or Picture

Right mouse click on the graphic or picture in IE50 and select Save Picture As. You can name the file and choose the folder to put it in, then choose Save.

Right mouse click on the graphic or picture in Netscape and select Save Image As. You can name the file and choose the folder to put it in, then choose Save.

Print

To print a web page simply get the web page on your monitor and then choose File, Print. In Netscape you have the added advantage of Print Preview before printing. To be safe, you may want to limit the printed web pages to one at a time. When the Print Dialog Box comes up choose under Print Range, Pages 1 to 1 and then 2 to 2 and so on.

Copy

To copy a web page simply get the web page on your monitor, click somewhere inside the page and then go to Edit, Select All, Edit, Copy.

Next open the Program you want to copy the web page to and go to Edit, Paste.

Delete

To delete a web page, web site or graphic use My Computer or Windows Explorer and locate the folder you saved them to and select the folder or individual files then press the Delete key on your keyboard.

There are numerous programs available to capture an entire web site and save it to your hard drive if that is what you need to do.
